The popular Walkabout mini-golf dives deep again. Rightly so, players now have to dig deeper into their pockets.
Walkabout Mini Golf is an extremely comfortable meeting place in virtual reality. Despite the lovingly designed courses, the sport sometimes becomes a minor matter as the laid-back social set-up with avatars of friends encourages frantic discussions. Some even see a concept for a first Metaverse platform in VR gaming.
Soon fans will once again enjoy a new social gaming environment on virtual greens. On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the new Atlantis DLC course will be released. Besides the picturesque atmosphere of the legendary ruins of the sunken city, the content also brings less good news.

As of the Atlantis DLC, individual courses now cost $3.99 instead of $2.99. The team wanted to make the increasingly difficult courses as spectacular as possible, according to independent studio Mighty Coconut.
It is estimated that 50-80% of all life on earth is found below the surface of the ocean and that the oceans contain 99% of the planet’s living space. Less than 10% of this space has been explored by man.
But 100% of #Atlantis will be explored by mini golfers on January 26, 2023! pic.twitter.com/5Hv02gLZpD

The price increase does not apply to previous DLC packs. Licensed courses like those from the mythical Myst adventure or Jim Henson’s Labyrinth movie are therefore still available for $2.99. This also includes the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea DLC. In the first part of the planned Jules Verne trilogy, players have already gone deep into the blue.
What VR enthusiasts can expect underwater this time is not yet known in detail. The studio is again mysterious and publishes short impressions of the new environment. A large whale can already be seen swimming quietly through corals, sunken domes and past a large theatre.
“There were 7 islands in this sea and the inhabitants of it have preserved the memory of their ancestors of the immeasurably large island of Atlantis which had really existed there and which for many ages had reigned over all the islands of the Atlantic Sea. —Proclus the successor pic.twitter.com/jQXgxnaiVC

Walkabout Mini Golf is available for Quest ($14.99) and PC-VR (Steam: $12.49), as well as Pico 4 (in supported markets). This latest version does not have any of the DLC courses yet.
